Once again proving I am five years late on any bandwagon, I decided to try flexing my character design muscles and tried drawing a couple of pokemon gijinka (that’s anthropomorphised versions of pokemon, for the uninitiated). This ludicrous collective is my Pokemon Y team, and it’s safe to say that without Affie I’d still be tootling around victory road, getting curbstomped by ambulatory rocks.

Trying to use varied body and face shapes that reflected the physical attributes of the individual monsters was a hell of a lot of fun, and getting to draw grumpy fat gardeners always makes my day <3

Sketches, scribbles and other informal stuff from Emily K Smith, sequential artist for Gestalt Comics.

Might contain gardening, superheroes, and a guilty addiction to eighties robots.
